10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Randy Orton

8. He Played A Role In Ken Kennedy Getting Fired

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lO34l0WusBs Ken Kennedy was a guy that WWE always had high hopes for when he made a splash on the main roster in 2005. Along the way, he experienced some highs like when he won a Money in the Bank ladder match along with some lows when he was suspended for performance enhancing drug use. In 2009, Kennedy was fired from WWE and he's been in TNA Wrestling using his real name Ken Anderson ever since. Why was Kennedy fired? Because apparently he had issues with Randy Orton. During a tag match in 2009, Kennedy did a spot where he dropped Orton on his previously injured shoulder. After the match was over, Orton and Kennedy had words backstage. Soon after that, Kennedy was released from his WWE contract. Later in 2009, Kennedy spoke to PWRShow.com about the incident.
"To be honest with you I kinda had a weird vibe all day. Randy Orton and I had become very good friends...we rode together, we were tight, we were buds...when I got to the building I ran up behind him and gave him a big bear hug from behind and he treated me like I was just an acquaintance of his. And then the fact that he made such a big stink about supposedly dropping him on his head. He literally blew up in front of all the talent including Vince and Stephanie and began to lecture me about how I had to be careful and his health was very important. It just doesn't make sense to me." "Randy jumped really, really hard. In wrestling it's give and take....It was a matter of either I drop him on his head or I help him through this. His neck never even touched the mat which makes me wonder why he even went to the trainers room to get his neck taped up. He was so injured that he went on to wrestle three nights in Mexico."
Since Orton was a bigger star, he got his way. That's how it goes in pro wrestling when there's a disagreement and apparently there were enough people against Kennedy by that point that management felt like it was time to get rid of him. While we don't know if Orton was the only one that complained about Kennedy, he certainly played a big part in it.
