10. He's Actually Canadian Not Italian
The Santino character was always booked as this Italian that just couldn't adjust to life in North America. He spoke with a funny accent, he looked like he didn't belong and he was always trapped in comedic storylines with other foreigners like the Great Khali and Vladimir Kozlov. He actually went on to become tag team champions with Kozlov as the two of them became one of WWE's best comedy duos. In reality, Santino was a guy from Toronto. He was just another talented Canadian wrestler that found his way to WWE after his other careers really didn't get him far. He has spoken about how he didn't know too much about pro wrestling, but once he got to learn about it he really became a fan of it. Part of the reason he became such a funny character was because of how he would botch the English language every time he spoke. It was something that people generally laugh at around foreigners whether we intend to or not, so WWE decided to make a gimmick out of it. There's nothing wrong with WWE wanting to hide where somebody is actually from. At least saying he was from Italy is better than saying Parts Unknown.
