10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About 2019
9. How Awkward Tyson Fury's Performances Were
WWE might claim Tyson Fury's exchanges with Braun Strowman had crossover appeal in the mainstream and put new eyes on their product, but it's hard to see exactly who the boxer's run was aimed at; wrestling fans didn't want him, and pugilist fanatics would've turned their nose up at wrasslin's carny, overtly silly atmosphere.
Ridiculous visuals like Fury struggling to break a pencil on Raw, or the way he awkwardly ambled around the ring at Crown Jewel in front of an increasingly-bored crowd, stick out. This run existed only so lifelong fan Tyson could live out his dream of playing wrestler for a spell, and it sucked.
Oh boy did it ever suck.
Revisionist history will shine Fury's match with Braun up as an epic clash between two giants. WWE will lean on dramatic music and the skill of their video production department to make it passable. In real time, it was a crappy sideshow.
