10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About AJ Lee
8. Her Spell As Raw General Manager
WWE don't exactly have a shining track record when it comes to appointing effective Raw General Managers, but while AJ Lee's stint in charge of the flagship show wasn't as cringey as the bumbling Kurt Angle's ongoing custodianship, her appointment didn't get over the way the company had intended.
With Raw leaderless, several authority figures from the show's past were brought back ahead of Raw 1000. It was all designed to lead to a big appointment on the 23 July 2012 show, with the likes of Mick Foley and Vickie Guerrero passing through the flagship.
AJ was unveiled in the end. She was one of WWE's most popular performers at the time, but the company had spent her past few character arcs portraying her as "crazy." Thus, handing her a position of power made no sense, and while some of her interactions as an unpredictable boss were entertaining, this three-month stint is best consigned to the past.
Lee's failed run ended with one of her career's worst angles, when she resigned amidst the John Cena scandal storyline that October, ending this complete waste of time on a miserable note.
