10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Aleister Black

9. Black Is A Better Fit For AEW Anyway

Being honest though, the reborn Malakai Black is a better fit for All Elite's product than he was ever for WWE's. It's no coincidence that Black's best days in the E's system came under the NXT banner; the cult like atmosphere fostered by WWE's black and gold brand suited Aleister down to the ground.

Fans were also predicting a Black jump to AEW long before it actually happened. Tony Khan's operation prides itself on giving workers creative freedom, which is something Al was left frustrated by a lack of under McMahon's employ. Now, he has no reasonable excuses if things don't work out as planned.

Most expect he'll thrive.

Nobody in WWE would want to admit this, but Black in AEW just makes sense. He excelled on NXT before stumbling on Raw and SmackDown. Going forwards, he should enjoy the lively atmosphere on Dynamite and the more receptive approach from AEW management towards a wrestler's own ideas.
