At WrestleMania 21, Batista defeated Triple H to capture the World Heavyweight Title. Though the buildup to the match was excellent - Batista's clever out-thinking of HHH's attempted manipulation helped draw the biggest PPV buyrate in history at the time - the bout itself was slow and plodding. Many fans thought that the show closed in weak fashion.

Nevertheless, the feud continued for several months after WrestleMania, never quite recapturing the same magic. Though the blow-off Hell in a Cell match at Vengeance 2005 was an excellent encounter, their second battle - the main event of Backlash - was completely forgettable.

The bout, all things considered, wasn't that different from the WrestleMania match - it was slow and disappointing. They added a ref bump and a belt shot, but in the end, Batista won with the Batista Bomb again. After the match, HHH beat up the referee.

Given that the feud didn't end there and that the Vengeance match was so much better, this bout is typically forgotten. Frankly, it's better that way.
