2. They Booked God (2006)
Shawn Michaels and Vince McMahon had a heated feud heading into WrestleMania 22, and at that show, HBK defeated McMahon in a bloody no holds barred match that saw Shane McMahon interfere on his father's behalf. The McMahons weren't done with Michaels, though.
Both Vince and Shane continued to harass HBK after WrestleMania, with Vince, especially, delighting in mocking his religious beliefs. That led Vince to book a tag team match at Backlash - him and Shane versus Shawn and God. In the weeks leading up to the match, the McMahons went to a church to make fun of Michaels some more, then were stunned when "power outages" in the arena seemed to have a deeper meaning.
At Backlash, the McMahons used a spotlight to usher "God" to the ring, but Michaels was on his own. The handicap match saw Vince and Shane decimate Michaels, all while Vince continued to mock HBK. When The Spirit Squad interfered, the McMahons were able to pick up the victory, and in the end, the fans were all disappointed and offended - either on religious grounds or intellectual ones.
