10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Chris Jericho

In one of his (many) autobiographies, Jericho revealed that he was originally pencilled in to work the main event of WrestleMania 2000. Less than a full year into his WWF career, he'd join Triple H, The Rock and Big Show in a Fatal-4-Way elimination match on the biggest show of the year. What a thrill...

...and what a disappointment when he was replaced by someone who had “retired” the previous month.

Mick Foley, fresh off losing to Triple H in an emotional Hell in a Cell match at No Way Out, would return as Linda McMahon's representative in the headliner. Just like that, Y2J was wiped from the match and relegated to a mid-card three-way with Chris Benoit and Kurt Angle instead. Jericho shared proof of his initial inclusion by plastering a promotional graphic for 'Mania 2000 in his book.

The early promise of a red hot debut segment with The Rock had been ruined by backstage politics and the perception that some jumped-up WCW recruit didn't deserve such an opportunity. Foley stole his gig, maaaaaan!
