10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Goldust

6. "I Still Remember"

A generation of wrestling fans will probably never forgive WWE for not putting the world title on Booker T at the climactic moment of his WrestleMania feud with a particularly nasty Triple H in 2003.

But at least the five-time WCW Champ had his fun double act with Goldust to fall back on. It wasn't where he belonged on the card, but it provided us with a touch of comic relief and, crucially, ensured that Booker - a man forever being overlooked by the creative team - stayed at the front of fans' minds.

Seemingly out of nowhere though, it just stopped being a thing. Booker was back on his lonesome and his tag team partner off Monday Night Raw altogether, apparently a consequence of doubts backstage around his professionalism.

The last memory of them was of Booker receiving a cryptic note in his locker room that read "I still remember". It was said to have been a hint that Goldust's return to TV was imminent. A couple of weeks later, WWE released him, and the message was never brought up again. Great continuity, guys.
