WWE's wording in a statement revealing they'd cut ties with Hulk Hogan on 24 July 2015 was painstakingly careful. It had to be, because some of Hulk's other comments in his aforementioned sex tape had opened up a different can of worms.

Hogan, by then a WWE ambassador and nestled snugly into his role as the "Babe Ruth" of company affairs, was hit by a media storm alleging he was racist; on tape, Hulk had used the dreaded 'n' word numerous times. WWE were left with no option other than to terminate his contract.

Things got so bad in the aftermath that Hogan again contemplated taking his own life after WWE pretty much deleted him from history.

Things have progressed to the point that WWE are willing to recognise Hogan's legacy again. They've even reinstated him into the Hall of Fame, and it seems only a matter of time before he's back on television doing his thing. Considering all that's happened in Hulk's personal life over the past few years, that's amazing.
