10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Jimmy Snuka

4. His Racial Angle With Colonel Debeers In The AWA

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FRMuM9xKXgo After Jimmy Snuka left the WWF in 1985, his AWA debut in 1986 saw him eventually get into a feud that lasted into 1987 with racist South African gimmicked Colonel Debeers which centered around Debeers' desire to only wrestle people who were "100% Caucasian." Widely regarded as one of the more unfortunate gimmicks in wrestling history, it's also one of the lowlights of the dying years of the promotion. What's even crazier about this is that as "The Polish Prince" Ed Wiskoski, Debeers and Snuka wrestled quite often in the Portland territory in the late 1970s and early 80s. Another case of a promotion pairing two people together who had history working with each other, as the AWA angle compares to the WWF's work with Snuka, Piper, Orndorff and Orton, the difference is obvious.
