It's hard to imagine WWE doing anything this risque in 2017 - but then again, even within the context of 2002 - when the spirit of the Attitude Era was alive and (sort of) well - this was still pretty weird.

It didn't even appear to be all that necessary. Kane already had plenty of scars for Triple H to re-open if he wanted to get inside the 'Big Red Machine's head before their title unification match at No Mercy - so did they really need to introduce an ex-flame? Let alone one who (allegedly) became the victim of necrophilia?

You can only really assume that Triple H himself was so desperate to act out the skit that he insisted they find a way to work it into the storyline - and for his sake, if no-one else's, it's probably best that the whole thing is never brought up again.
