So much for that.

Kofi Kingston's recent rise to prominence has been shelved in favour of pushing a returning Kevin Owens. That means Kofi's planned WWE Title shot against Daniel Bryan will now go to KO, and it means WWE were never fully interested in riding this 'KofiMania' thing out until 'Mania 35.

Kofi, as evidenced by his amazing performances in that SmackDown Gauntlet, at Elimination Chamber and in promos alongside his New Day buds Big E and Xavier Woods, was fully deserving of a push that has now been binned. Truthfully, he always has been, and in fact should have been a main eventer long before now. So, why did it take until 2019 for that to (almost) happen? Various reasons, most of them because of strops other workers had and WWE's writers spinning their wheels.

There's also some juicy gossip relating to battles with the boss, his own annoyance at being overlooked and the fact Kingston was Tag-Team Champ years before New Day, unicorn horns, breakfast cereal and pancakes were even part of his act.

Yep, poor Nahaje's been through a lot...
