10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Lita

Lita had to overcome a lot to be taken seriously as a wrestler: live sex celebration, distasteful authority figures firing her for refusing to lay bare, and those appearances as a 'ho'. She was a trailblazer. Yet - whisper it quietly - the current crop of female wrestlers have topped anything Lita ever achieved in the ring.

If that seems like harsh criticism, it's not really meant to be taken that way. Lita was good, but she just couldn't hold a candle to the likes of Charlotte Flair or Bayley as far as being an in-ring performer. Lita's career fell during a different era, when women's wrestling wasn't taken quite so seriously.

WWE had Lita reveal the new Women's Title belt at WrestleMania 32. Although a nice idea in theory, the logic was skewed due to Lita's association with the old 'Diva' tag. A fair number of her major pay-per-view matches took place in bra and panties, and that's an inescapable fact.
