10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Logan Paul
8. The Illogical "Face Turn" At WrestleMania 38
Logan Paul debuted as a WWE competitor at the 'Show of Shows' in a tag match alongside The Miz against Rey and Dominik Mysterio, and he was outstanding. For someone wrestling his first match ever, his timing and showmanship were impeccable, and even those not fond of Paul had to admit he got off to a smashing start.
After the match, The Miz turned on Paul, flattening him in the ring. At the time, this was puzzling, because they were both heels, but apparently, this was all part of a plan hatched months earlier. Dave Meltzer reported Paul's contract included a face turn at WrestleMania 38, which was strange because the build to this match included Miz and Logan doing whatever they could to get booed out of the building.
Paul made it work in the long run, beating Miz at SummerSlam before tearing the house down with Roman Reigns at Crown Jewel. Still, the post-match shenanigans didn't make any sense. There was no build to the turn and no reason for us to cheer Paul or boo Miz at that time, so the only logical reaction involved plenty of head-scratching.
