10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Nia Jax

Since returning to WWE in 2023, Nia Jax has been better than ever before. Her presence has been dominating, her promos are biting and by becoming the new Queen of the Ring, she's currently one of the top heels in the women's division.

But that is in stark contrast to her prior run in the company, where she was one of the most heavily criticized WWE Superstars who fans clamored to see released and weren't quite so thrilled to see come back.

Jax has always had massive potential. From her undeniable physical presence to her legendary Anoa'i Bloodline lineage, you'd think The Irresistible Force would be held in high regard as a future Hall of Famer. Yet a quick Google search of her name comes up with more controversy than praise.

Between developing a reputation as a dangerous worker responsible for injuring several talents, to making some statements that got her in hot water, there are more than a few things WWE would rather sweep under the rug than call attention to.

Let's take a look at some parts of Nia Jax's past that WWE won't be adding to any highlight reels any time soon.

From the onset, WWE was very cautious of how it handled any PR related to COVID-19, to the point that referring to it as anything but "unprecedented times" was essentially banned. And when it came to getting vaccinated, this led to even higher tension.

In one of the mass rounds of "budget cuts", dozens of wrestlers were released from WWE, including Nia Jax. And while no official statement has ever said why—as WWE doesn't even announce these releases at all anymore, let alone the cause—most of the speculation has been that she and some others were let go for refusing to be vaccinated.

Jax claimed she was taking a break from WWE to focus on her mental health and was then informed about her release "without consultation", but did specify:

"I stood my ground on things that I know they not happy about. I chose not to get the vaccine. It was a personal choice and I remember sitting down with Vince because the entire two years I was there, we were tested every day, I never popped positive or had COVID. He said, ‘Well kid, you’re not going to be able to fill some of your contractual duties.’ I was like, if that’s the case, then that’s the case."

Jax would bring this back up and also voice her opinion on Ukraine, saying "All these mfs saying 'I stand with Ukraine' couldn't even stand for their own personal rights for 2 years because they were scared to breathe"

WWE these days tries to stay apolitical most of the time outside of some very generic and less divisive opinions, so any time a Superstar takes a firm stance on any issue one way or another, it tends to stay off-screen and in the land of social media.
