10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Rhyno

1. THOSE Piledrivers...

Violence against women is a huge no-go in WWE. It was relatively commonplace throughout the Attitude Era, and even through Ruthless Aggression, but completely disappeared when the company went PG, and rightly so. Such cheap shock tactics should have no place in a mainstream wrestling product, but they are a huge, unavoidable part of Rhyno's legacy.

Portrayed as a wild, unstoppable brute, one of 'The Man-Beast's' main character traits was that he loved piledriving women through tables. It was extremely tasteless, even for ECW's 'extreme' product, and entirely unnecessary too. Rhyno was more than capable of getting over without such acts, but the promotion persisted with them regardless, as the likes of Jasmin St. Clair, Dawn Marie, and countless others all fell by his hand, with several driven off the apron, through a table, and onto the floor.

Even acknowledging this history would prompt considerable outrage in 2018. Such tactics belong in scuzzy indie promotions, not WWE, and the company have done well to distance themselves from them over the years. Still, they'll never be able to escape the fact that they were primarily what Rhyno was known for for a long, long time.
