10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Samoa Joe

8. His Final Appearance Was P*ss-Wet In A Poncho

Samoa Joe is one of the greatest wrestlers of his generation. Even within WWE, they still had times where they presented his as a genuine big deal who could making anybody on the roster go 'night, night'.

Still, what is the final image WWE gave audiences of Samoa Joe? Why, that's of him standing in the p*ssing rain, wearing a poncho, while WrestleMania 37 was hit by atrocious weather.

When you think of the opportunities WWE had to really push Joe to the moon at several points across his six years with the company, that final image of the two-time NXT Champion's WWE tenure is sadly a fitting visual.

Somehow WWE bungled Samoa Joe, one of the elite 'killers' of modern pro wrestling. They had gold in their hands, but they never really even knew it.

In NXT? Sure, Joe was utilised as one of the top tier players whose back the brand was placed on during his time in the land of black and gold. Away from that, his main roster run saw Joe taken for granted - with him being viewed as someone who could be plugged in at any spot on the card, rather than viewed as someone you can strap one of your World Titles to.

Sadly, it was with a wet whimper that Samoa Joe's final WWE days came to a close, when quite easily he could've been one of those tearing it up in the ring at Raymond James Stadium earlier this month.
