10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About SummerSlam
1. Eddie Guerrero's Freak Out
In truth, WWE might prefer it if we forgot that Eddie Guerrero and Rey Mysterio ever had a match in which the winner would be awarded custody of a child (Mysterio's son, Dominik, to be exact).
It's unlikely that a storyline of this kind would be given much air-time in present-day WWE which - since the switch to a PG rating - has tended to limit the focus of its wrestlers' feuds to: "I want your title belt," and/or, "I don't like you" (and, ocasionally, "This is America, goddamnit!").
Unfortunately, though, we do remember it, and what we remember most is Vickie Guerrero missing her cue to get involved in the match, and her husband going absolutely mental as a result.
It was one of the few occasions on which a wrestler has so blatantly broken kayfabe in the middle of a match - and perhaps speaks to the fact that Eddie wasn't best pleased about having to participate in such a far-fetched storyline.
