10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Sunny

7. Managing Faarooq With His Ridiculous Outfit

When WWE signed former WCW Heavyweight Champion Ron Simmons they figured he needed a manager. Simmons wasn't a great talker, so it sounded like a good idea. They also decided to change his name and call him "Faarooq Asad" at first with Sunny as his manager. A lot of WWE fans watched WCW, knew who Simmons was and they just felt like it was better to put this helmet on him. The outfit that they gave Faarooq was terrible. It was this stupid looking blue helmet thing (also was in silver later) that looked like it was some cheap amateur wrestling headgear or perhaps something you might see in some awful science fiction film about space invaders. If you saw it you remember how bad it was. If you didn't see it, one look and you'd understand how terrible it was. To nobody's surprise, the gimmick failed and the angle was dropped with Sunny managing him. He went on to do his own thing as he eventually formed the Nation of Domination while Sunny was off doing other things like announcing. She had a number of characters or teams that she was with for a short period of time. For whatever reasons, WWE's creative team just couldn't find the right role for her. The pairing with Faarooq just didn't work at all.
