10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About Tough Enough
6. Just Because You Don't Win Doesn't Mean You Won't Get Signed
The main draw of Tough Enough, at least for prospective contestants, was that the winner would receive a WWE contract. The whole point of the show was for the budding grapplers to prove that they were 'tough enough' and deserved a shot at WWE stardom above all others. It is supposed to be survival of the fittest. The best of the best. In reality, however, even if you don't win the competition, if WWE sees anything in you they're going to sing you regardless. Knowing that going in must be a boost to some of the competitors. From season one, Chris Nowinski and Josh Matthews were signed, even though Maven and Nidia won. Matt Morgan was snapped up after season two, despite the fact Jackie Gayda and Linda Miles won. Marty 'The Boogeyman' Wright and The MIz were signed from season four, when Daniel Puder was crowned winner. WWE won't want fans knowing this. How are they supposed to get invested in the drama when, if WWE likes somebody from the show, there's nothing stopping them from signing them. They even signed Cameron from season five, and her favourite match of all time was Alicia Fox versus Melina.
