10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About WrestleMania 28
8. Kane Pinned Randy Orton
Kane's had his share of off-putting, overenthusiastic performances over the years, but few were as hard to stomach as his "Embrace the Hate" campaign in early 2012. Wearing his mask for the first time in nearly nine years, Kane singled out John Cena, trying to get the longtime babyface to turn heel. When Cena defeated the monster, Kane turned his attention to Randy Orton. Why? No reason, really. Kane and Orton clashed at WrestleMania in the second match on the card, a slot that meant WWE was practically begging fans to hate it (we'll get to why later). Sure enough, the bout was what one would expect of an eleven-minute Kane-Orton encounter, though possibly even slower. Fans would have at least popped to see Orton win, but when the two men fought up to the second turnbuckle and "The Viper" attempted an RKO, Kane blocked it and hit a chokeslam from up high. That secured victory for "The Devil's Favourite Demin" and annoyed the already-livid crowd even more.
