10 Things WWE Wants You To Forget About WrestleMania 30
10. The Shield Were Wasted
The Shield had established themselves as one of the most dominant forces in the history of WWE following their debut in November 2012, but in early 2014, something new started to happen: the trio started to get over as babyfaces. While they were still working as henchmen for Triple H and Stephanie McMahon in The Authority, a frequent butting of heads with fellow underlings Kane and The New Age Outlaws got fans behind Rollins, Reigns, and Ambrose. A six-man showdown was booked for 'Mania, but after a 25-minute-plus opener between Bryan and HHH, the company needed to keep things on schedule. As a result, the match was very brief - The Shield rushed the ring, decimated their opponents, and scored a quick win, getting a double pin on both Outlaws after just 2:56 of action. The victory was well-received, but given that The Shield wrestled in a strong opener at WrestleMania 29 and Reigns and Rollins played huge roles at WrestleMania 31, it's hard to believe that they couldn't have done more with the trio - better opponents and five more minutes, maybe?
