10 Things You Didn’t Know About TJ Perkins
4. Wrestled With WWE Before
TJ Perkins may be yet to make his official debut on the main roster after tasting victory in the Cruiserweight Classic, but he’s actually been to the dance on one or two occasions before.
Back in 2009, Perkins was brought in for jobbing purposes - or as a “local athlete” as we’ve since been dubbing them - on an episode of Monday Night Raw as well as a showing of the old ECW reboot.
That being said, his appearances weren’t quite as straightforward as they sound. In his first outing, he’d been set to go up against the Miz on Raw, but his match was seemingly pulled at the last minute when guest host Snoop Dogg appeared on the screen to announce that Perkins was being replaced by Marty Jannetty, of all people.
At the second time of asking, he at least managed to participate in an actual match, taking on Sheamus under the name JT Quinn on an ECW taping. However, that match went to a no contest when Shelton Benjamin intervened.
Still, I’m sure Perkins will have plenty of opportunities to improve upon that record this time around.
