2. He Was Inducted Into Two Halls Of Fame In The Same Year
Paul Ellering may have been away from the wrestling business for a while by the time 2011 rolled around, but it was still a year filled with recognition for him.
Prior to WrestleMania 27, The Road Warriors and Ellering were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. Ellering and Joe "Animal" Laurinaitis took the stage in Atlanta to accept their award and thank the WWE Universe as part of a class headlined by Shawn Michaels. The next evening at the Georgia Dome, they made an appearance for the live crowd.
A few months later, Ellering was inducted to the Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame, the only physical hall of fame in the sport. He went in as a member of The Legion of Doom in the tag team section, in a class that also included former WWE Champion Ivan Koloff and WWE Chairman Vince McMahon.
Ellering was introduced by the then-president of the Cauliflower Alley Club, AWA legend Nick Bockwinkel.
