10 Things You Didn't Know About Rick Rude

7. Was Too Much For Paul Bearer To Handle

A notoriously hot-headed dude, Rick Rude was also someone who didn't shy away from confrontation. For William Moody, better known to many wrestling fans as Paul Bearer, that wasn't an appealing trait. Working alongside Rude in Florida, Moody worked as 'Percy Pringle'. The flamboyant heel manager was there to help Rude get over as a villain in his own right. Inside the ring, this was fine, but on the road, the pair were far from a good match. In shoot interviews many years later, Moody stated that he didn't enjoy certain sides of Rick Rude, especially the violent ones. According to Moody, Rude would take his then-girlfriend to the bar and leave her sitting there herself. Then, he'd watch as unsuspecting males tried to hit on her. It's only natural that a pretty looking girl would attract attention, and it seems like Rick was only too aware of this. Upon seeing other men try to pick up his lady, the wrestler would angrily beat them up and chew them out verbally. In the words of Moody, he had to get away from this kind of environment, as it was too much for him.
