During this time he primarily feuded with up-and-coming stable D-Generation X, deploring their vulgar antics. He clashed with the team on a number of occasions, memorably handcuffing himself to Chyna at Wrestlemania XIV so that she couldn't interfere with the Hunter Herst Helmsley vs Owen Hart match for the European title. She did however, after throwing powder in Sarge's eyes. But perhaps his most memorable encounter with the degenerates occurred on RAW in late 1997.
