10 Things You Didn't Know About Tatanka
3. 21 Year Gap Between WrestleMania Appearances
There have been some long absences between WrestleMania appearances, but Tatanka may just hold the record for the longest.
Before his surprise appearance in the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania 32, the last time Tatanka had appeared at the Showcase of the Immortals was WrestleMania XI. He didn't even wrestle on that show, instead appearing at ringside for the Lawrence Taylor/Bam Bam Bigelow main event.
To find the last time that Tatanka actually wrestled at 'Mania, you have to go back to WrestleMania IX in 1993 and his Intercontinental Title match with Shawn Michaels. He was supposed to be on the 'Mania X card, but his ten-man tag match famously got bumped off the show when the Michaels/Razor Ramon ladder match went long.
So that's a 23 year gap between WrestleMania matches, which has to be some sort of record. I cannot think of another that's longer (Ricky Steamboat's 21 year gap is the closest I can come up). Please feel free to disprove me in the comments...
