10 Things You Didn't Know About The Four Horsemen
6. Ole Anderson Isn't A Fan
Despite being a founding member of the group and one of the most credible fourth Horsemen, Ole Anderson was nowhere to be seen when The Four Horsemen were inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2012. Why was that? Well, the notoriously cantankerous Ole hasn't exactly been quiet on his issues with seemingly everyone in wrestling, from Ric Flair to Vince McMahon via most of the key players in late '80s and early '90s NWA.
The Four Horsemen was the making of the men who were privileged to be a part of the group, yet Ole Anderson has been extremely vocal in the past about his hatred for the group and all it achieved. To quote the man himself;
“It was just !*$%. We were picking up a little bit of money in the Four Horsemen, but to me, that was the worst damn thing I ever did because that was really show-business. It was still dependent on us to draw money, but we were hampered in so many ways. After all, I couldn’t do what I wanted to do because I wasn’t the boss. But unfortunately, a lot of people, when they think about the Anderson’s – Ole Anderson and Gene Anderson – the only thing they can come up with is the Four Horsemen, and that’s unfortunate because that to me was just a piece of crap. It was garbage.”
Wow, Ole, tell us how you really feel.
In his book 'Inside Out', Ole also went to town on The Nature Boy, criticising Flair for wrestling the same match over and over again. I'm not about to disagree with the criticism (Ole isn't the only person to point such things out), but why fix something that isn't broken? The Four Horsement made its members, but Ole Anderson may well be the exception to the rule.
