10 Things You Didn't Know About The Four Horsemen

4. No Flair And Arn, No Horsemen

There have been plenty of incarnations of The Four Horsemen, but none have existed without the rambunctious charisma of Ric Flair and the dependable toughness of Arn Anderson. Founding members of the group, the duo have been ubiquitous throughout the history of The Four Horsemen, the tight nucleus around which professional wrestling folklore has been written.

On the surface, Arn and Flair could not be more different. Even their nicknames are polar opposites. 'The Nature Boy' is all glitz and glamour, all hyperbole and bright lights, while 'The Enforcer' is a no-frills beatdown monger interested only in getting the job done. Arn went to great lengths in his promos to get across the prevalence of professionalism over glamourisation in his game, while Flair was busy waxing lyrical about his nightlife escapades and playboy lifestyle.

Polar opposites in some ways, but then there always has been weight to the yin and yang argument, while both men were more than capable of indulging in the other's specialities. Flair was as tough as they come, while Arn was known for his partying ability. Arn and Flair complimented each other, in the ring and out.

It is difficult to imagine a Four Horsemen without Flair or Anderson, because there hasn't been a Four Horsemen without the two of them.
