10 Things You Didn't Know About Tommy Dreamer

4. Today, He Runs His Own Promotion And Wrestling School...

Tommy Dreamer House Of Hardcore Tommy Dreamer€™s House Of Hardcore (HOH) promotion began life as a single, one-off show and grew outwards from there. Dreamer had worked the indies sporadically since his tearful farewell from ECW in 2010 (which is definitely one of the best promos of this decade) and had been an important part of TNA as well, but in 2012, he decided to strike out on his own. Today, the engine of hardcore, the spirit of ECW is alive and well in HOH. ...But that isn€™t to say that House Of Hardcore is any kind of ECW knock-off league. In fact, one trip to the promotion€™s website identifies HOH as a brand apart from ECW, WWE and TNA entirely. The company€™s motto is simple, €œNo politics. No BS. Just wrestling€. HOH already has an impressive list of alumni, including some of Dreamer€™s old ECW colleagues, fresh TNA talent and a plethora of ex-WWE stars. These names mix it up with top rated indie talent and wrestling legends like Mil Mascaras and Terry Funk, so it€™s a card with something for everyone. As of the time of writing, HOH stands as one of the better indie promotions in America, putting out a tougher product than most and slapping together scrapbook-like €˜dream match€™ cards on a regular basis. Attached to the House Of Hardcore promotion is the House Of Hardcore wrestling school, which trains young wrestlers to give everything they have €œphysically, mentally and emotionally€ to their matches. Tommy personally trains the HOH students €“ and they seek him out because he has a proven eye for talent and a reputation as a very good teacher. €œI teach respect and I teach a love of the business€, he says, succinctly.

I am a professional author and lifelong comic books/pro wrestling fan. I also work as a journalist as well as writing comic books (I also draw), screenplays, stage plays, songs and prose fiction. I don't generally read or reply to comments here on What Culture (too many trolls!), but if you follow my Twitter (@heyquicksilver), I'll talk to you all day long! If you are interested in reading more of my stuff, you can find it on http://quicksilverstories.weebly.com/ (my personal site, which has other wrestling/comics/pop culture stuff on it). I also write for FLiCK http://www.flickonline.co.uk/flicktion, which is the best place to read my fiction work. Oh yeah - I'm about to become a Dad for the first time, so if my stuff seems more sentimental than usual - blame it on that! Finally, I sincerely appreciate every single read I get. So if you're reading this, thank you, you've made me feel like Shakespeare for a day! (see what I mean?) Latcho Drom, - CQ
