10 Things You Didn’t Know About WCW Halloween Havoc

WCW's annual fright-fest was often the source of many intriguing facts...

Generally speaking, there's a lot wrestling fans miss about World Championship Wrestling. Not only did the promotion provide a true alternative to the WWF/WWE, but it also provided a hell of a lot of magical memories. Moments such as Hulk Hogan turning heel to form the nWo in 1996 and Sting defeating Ric Flair to win his first World Title in 1990 will never be forgotten. One other thing people seem to miss about WCW is the titles the company would give shows and events. Names like Nitro and Starrcade have a timeless feel to them, but other Pay-Per-Views were similarly atmospheric. Admittedly, some like Spring Stampede and World War 3 did feel a little cheesy, but the king of the cornball was undoubtedly Halloween Havoc. The event ran from 1989, right up until the year 2000. There would never be a 2001 iteration, because WCW went out of business in March of that year. Over the years, Halloween Havoc provided a lot of big moments for the promotion, but it was also regarded as an event which featured a lot of nonsense. The infamous 'Chamber Of Horrors' springs instantly to mind. This article focus on 10 different things many wrestling fans may not have known about the long-running event, taking in stars such as Sting, The Ultimate Warrior and even Stan Hansen.
