10 Things You Didn't Know About WWE In 1992

5. Lex Luger Debuted In The WBF

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0bTWEwFPcc Before the XFL, there was the World Bodybuilding Federation. Vince McMahon founded the organization in 1990, and it went out of business in 1992. The company hosted two bodybuilding events that were promoted on WWF television and shown on pay-per-view in June of 1991 and 1992. What people may not remember is that Lex Luger was hired by Vince from WCW to appear in the WBF as a bodybuilding contestant. He was announced at Wrestlemania 8 and was going to challenge WBF champion Gary Strydom at the event, but Luger was involved in a motorcycle accident (where he received the infamous steel plate in his forearm) and had to miss the event. Luger would debut for the WWF the next year as The Narcissist, while the WBF was out of business a month after the second Pay Per View because of low buyrates.
