10 Things You Didn't Know About WWE In 2000

1. Fatal Four-Way Was Never Even Supposed To Happen

As annoyed as Chris Jericho was about being removed from the 4-way main event, that match wasn't even the original plan for Wrestlemania 2000. Before Steve Austin had to be written out of storylines and removed from TV, plans were in place for Stone Cold to face Triple H on the big show, one-on-one. Who knows if 'The Game' still would have left with his hand raised in victory, but a win over Austin at Wrestlemania would have completely established him as the heel-to-beat on the roster. Arguably, Triple H would still gain that stature, after his feud with Mick Foley, and subsequent rivalry with The Rock, but a main event run against the top babyface in the promotion, Austin at 'Mania would have done the trick nicely. Later in 2000, the pair would square off, after it was revealed that Triple H had been the master mind behind Austin being run over at Survivor Series 1999, but the duo would then oddly team up once Austin turned heel on The Rock at Wrestlemania X-Seven. History would have been a lot different had Austin and HHH faced off one-on-one at Wrestlemania 2000, who knows what would have happened next. Would Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho and Chris Benoit have been thrust into main event positions as quickly as they were? What are your favourite moments and memories from the year 2000?
