10 Things You Didn't Know About WWE In 2004

1. Ric Flair Attacks Mick Foley Backstage

It's no secret that Mick Foley and Ric Flair had heat in the early 2000s. The two men did not get along, based off of comments each made about the other in their autobiographies. Foley claimed in his book that Flair was a terrible booker when he worked for WCW. In a receipt, Flair labelled Foley a 'glorified stuntman' (amongst other things) in his. Flair called it a 'receipt'. Foley was not happy about it. The two met face-to-face backstage at a Raw taping in December. Foley, who hadn't been on a WWE event for several months, apparently came power walking into catering in order to confront Flair about what he said. Foley reportedly tossed a copy of Flair's book in front of him and demanded that he sign it, so that it could be auctioned off for charity. Flair went to shake Foley's hand, something Foley had no interest in. That's where Flair lost it. Thinking the situation would turn hostile, The Nature Boy threw a punch at the former Cactus Jack. The skirmish was quickly broken up but the drama didn't stop there: the two men continued arguing and trading verbal jabs for another half an hour. Flair challenged Foley to a fight, which Foley declined, saying he didn't want to hit a fifty year old man. The two men did square off, in a worked fashion, in the summer of 2006.
