10 Things You Didn't Know About WWE In 2006

1. Creators Of 'Assy McGee' File Intellectual Property Lawsuit Against WWE

Yes, you read that title right. The creators of Assy McGee, an animated show about a crime-stopping pair of buttocks, filed a lawsuit against WWE in December 2006 over WWE's undeniably similar 'Mr. McMahon's Kiss My A**' club cartoon. The cartoon, which aired on WWE.com, only lasted a few months. Micheal Cole, who oversaw WWE.com back them, asked his staff to come up with a creative idea that Vince McMahon would like. Since Vince is enamoured with his own a** it made sense to do a cartoon where the owner's posterior was the main protagonist. Vince thought the cartoon was the best thing ever. And then Cartoon Network came calling. Vince was apparently furious at the lawsuit and Michael Cole's attempt to play dumb by claiming that he'd never seen Assy McGee before. Cole got some serious heat for his error. WWE were planning on developing the McMahon cartoon and even had merchandise planned but had to scrap it after only a few episodes. WWE are not usually shy when it comes to fighting lawsuits and have an expert team of lawyers but they knew they didn't have a leg to stand on in this case. The design of both characters and since Assy McGee came first WWE were deemed to be infringing on their intellectual property. WWE and especially Michael Cole made a**es out of themselves on this occasion.
