10 Things You Didn't Know About WWE In 2014

5. Sting's Actual Arrival (WWE 2K15 Trailer)

The above video is comfortably better than anything WWE ever managed with Sting following admittedly epic Survivor Series 2014 debut.

The 2K video game franchise might not have the best reputation for making video games, but it became an odd signifier of main roster arrivals and rebuilt bridges throughout the 2010s thanks to inclusions of several major names from wrestling's past.

In 2016, it allowed Bill Goldberg to be presented as a video game character before his Flawless Victory over Brock Lesnar at the Survivor Series. A couple of years earlier, it was the Ultimate Warrior wreaking havoc in the 2K offices ahead before his 2014 Hall Of Fame induction the following spring.

In 2014 it was all about 'The Icon', and what a thrilling tease of things to come this particular trailer was. The painted-up orchestra playing his incredible WCW theme teeing up a brief (but electrifying) shot of a determined 'Stinger' was all the confirmation audiences needed that Steve Borden and Vince McMahon had - at last - come to some arrangement.

It was all downhill from here.
