10 Things You Didn't Know About WWE In 2016

3. The Best Pay-Per-View Record Of 2016

Long before fans panicked about her push and resented her for it, Charlotte Flair was exclusively in the business of having banger matches and building a main roster women's division to rival - and eventually outperform - that of her male counterparts.

After a slightly shonky start to life on the main roster in 2015, she made 2016 her year and never was this clearer than on the Sunday supershows.

Wrestling on 13 of the 17 shows, Flair went undefeated in seven singles and three triple threat matches whilst going 1-1 in tag team battles and surviving in Team Raw's bout with Team SmackDown

Victories over Sasha Banks, Becky Lynch, Natalya and The Bella Twins were usually amongst the best matches on stacked shows, and even her one doubles defeat came due to the surprise reveal of Bayley as 'The Boss' partner in a beloved Battleground opener.

It was the only thing between her and a 100% record in her first full year on the show, and sure enough she was the division's biggest star in virtually no time at all. WWE would do well to remember that when they're next attempting to establish somebody at a similar level.
