10 Things You Didn't Know Were Banned In Triple H's WWE

1. References To Vince McMahon

A bit of inference here, but when was the last time you heard Vince McMahon's name uttered on WWE television?

Probably on the July 27 SmackDown, on which Stephanie McMahon opened the show by passing on a message of thanks from her father, who mysteriously did not appear himself (despite appearing onscreen in the run-up to and at WrestleMania 38, and after it was first broken by the Wall Street Journal that he had paid hush money to women who had accused him of sexual conduct).

Mad, isn't it?

If Vince McMahon "retired", why didn't he soak up one last pop? Where were the emotive, celebratory butt-rock soundtracked video packages?

He didn't retire; he resigned in disgrace, and after Stephanie led the crowd in a brief "Thank you, Vince" chant, that was that. Optically, they couldn't do any more or less. They couldn't celebrate him or no-sell him. They had to say something, else it'd have been weird, but they couldn't say much, because, well, you should know. And they've said nothing since, but that actually says rather a lot. It would be a terrible look, and there's a new babyface narrative to maintain.

He'll appear on TV again, and will enter the Hall of Fame at some point, but only when time does what it does and callouses the feeling.
