10 Things You Hate About Modern Wrestling (Thanks To The Attitude Era)

7. Triple H

Attitude Era

One of the most polarising men in wrestling history, Triple H's ascent started with Attitude's biggest stable - D-Generation X. The group helped transform 'The Game' from blue blood snob to crass, unruly miscreant, and eventually facilitated him becoming the company's top heel. Feuding with The Rock saw Triple H top many a WWE billboard, and he stayed in the spotlight for years to come, rarely relinquishing his spot.

The problem with Triple H is that while he's clearly a talented performer, he has never been as good as the company want you to believe. He's a fine worker, a great heel, and a decent promo, but he's not the second coming of Harley Race. Despite this, Vince McMahon has continually pushed his son-in-law down the fans' throats, creating a great deal of genuine animosity in the process.

Triple H's work behind the scenes has repaired his image to a certain degree, but his detractors remain. Some see it as nepotism, while others just don't like the guy's working style. Either way, he remains a heavily criticised figure whenever he shows up in the modern era, particularly when he enforces one of his cripplingly boring WrestleMania 'epics' upon us.
