10 Things You Hate About Modern Wrestling (Thanks To The Attitude Era)

WWE's roster was never more star studded than during the Attitude Era.

Steve Austin and The Rock set the bar, but they were supported by the likes of Kane, The Undertaker, Kurt Angle, and Triple H, who could all be rotated in and out of the main event in an instant. They were genuine megastars, and their star power is a huge reason why Attitude is so revered.

Today's crop just don't stack up. Roman Reigns, Kevin Owens, and co. are all great performers in their own right, but WWE's main eventers no longer feel larger than life. Brock Lesnar and perhaps John Cena aside, the era of the megastar is well and truly over, and WWE's inability to create stars on the level of Rock and Austin is one of their biggest issues.

It's no wonder that guys like Reigns are routinely booed by older fans, but cheered by those who weren't around during Attitude's heyday. They're nowhere near as bold or dynamic as the stars of old, which isn't entirely their fault - but has created a void of drawing power at the top of the card.

Sadly, the Austins of the world set a standard than Roman & co. can never hope to match under WWE's current setup.
