10 Things You Learn Attending 12 WrestleManias In 13 Years

5. The Hall Of Fame Is Hit And Miss

With events like WrestleCon, ROH, stand up shows and other independent shows, there€™s so much wrestling that competes with the annual HOF induction ceremony. I€™ve been to every ceremony since 2004 (except 2006, where I missed Bret Hart. Gutter!) and in hindsight there€™s a couple I should€™ve missed and went and enjoyed some other wrestling.

In 2010, the line up for the show consisted of Ted DiBiase, Wendi Richter, Bob Uecker and others. Mad respect to all the inductees but the show just wasn€™t very exciting and with the wrestlers on a timer, they don€™t get much time to tell stories. In 2008, Ric Flair went an hour telling stories and it was outstanding. The next year Steve Austin had 7 minutes which was such a rip off for the fans in Texas who wanted to hear him speak.

My advice to you dear readers would be to read the Wrestling Observer or the lovely editors here at What Culture and see who€™s going to be inducted and then make your call about going to the event. It€™s worth doing one time, but being almost a four hour show, it€™s a big commitment so choose your time wisely.
