10 Things You Learn Binge Watching Every WWE SmackDown From 1999

3. Sexual Chocolate Is Embarrassing To Revisit

The Rock WWF SmackDown
WWE

Never watch this with someone who doesn't understand pro wrestling silliness. In fact, never watch this at all.

SmackDown's early weeks were sprinkled with some of the most mortifying scenes in federation history. Mark Henry admitted that he was addicted to sex, then went on to reveal that he'd done the deed with his own sister as an eight-year old child. It gets worse. Oh yes, it gets much, much worse.

The actress playing Henry's therapist acted shocked before asking Mark when he last had intercourse with his sibling. "The day before yesterday", came his reply. The intent was to shock, obviously, but the WWF hoped that Henry would also become a sympathetic babyface. Think about that for a second.

These "sex therapy sessions" are brutal to revisit in 2021. They launched Mark's 'Sexual Chocolate' character, but they're just so awkward. This is the kind of senselessly outrageous fare that pro wrestling could do without. It never works.
