10 Things You’ll Never See In WWE Again

9. Chair Shots To The Skull

Take the final sentence of the previous entry and double the finality of it, because there's no way in hell unprotected chair shots are ever going to be part of WWE's product again. They're another facet of the past that causes horror when looking back. The sheer number of sickening blows wrestlers willingly took the skull is almost depressing.

Alas, that was the way it was, and taking such abhorrent abuse was once a measuring stick of toughness.

Does the chair shot look better when it smashes someone's head? Yes, it does, but the cons far outweigh the pros on this occasion, and nobody should wish to see the concussion-laced, brain-battering days of old make a grand comeback just for presentation's sake. To do so would be playing with the lives of these men and women we call pro wrestlers.

Besides, WWE have found a way to use chairs without bashing one another's heads in. The more common practice is to use the flat side of the weapon across another's back. Alternatively, wrestlers are asked to put their hands up so the chair doesn't actually strike their skull.
