All told, Beth Phoenix spent three years in OVW - one year before she was actually signed to a developmental deal, one year after, and another year after an aborted Raw debut (more on that in a bit).

During her time in the developmental territory, Phoenix accomplished a lot - she wasn't just a championship wrestler (she held the OVW Women's Title on two occasions), but she was also an accomplished manager.

First, Phoenix was paired up with Chris Masters, both as his valet and his on-screen girlfriend. Ultimately, that alliance didn't last very long, but Phoenix was soon made the manager for Aaron "The Idol" Stevens - the man who would later be known as Damien Sandow. Prior to Stevens's first main roster run, Phoenix and Shelly Martinez (who would become Ariel in the revived ECW) took on-screen stewardship over the hot prospect's career.
