Omega's lack of enthusiasm ahead of starting at Deep South would soon be justified. Omega was a part of the same group of talent that gave Jack Swagger, The Miz, Zack Ryder, MVP, and more their start in WWE, and whilst this is an impressive list of talent the time is better known for being the centre of controversy surrounding former head trainer, Bill DeMott.

The stories of DeMott's abuses have been covered at length in all corners of the internet, and Omega was one of the first to speak out about them. In many interviews Omega has spoke of DeMott's methods, an obsession with physical intensity that led to injury after injury for those in developmental. Omega went into DSW weighing 215lbs, and left weighing 170.

Enough was enough, and Omega requested his release from the program. He spoke to Johnny Ace of his desire to work in Japan, something Ace understood. The face of People Power tried to get Omega a shot in AJPW, but was unsuccessful. Despite this, Omega decided to walk away from a WWE developmental deal.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
