10 Things You Need To Know About Past WWE Road To WrestleManias

Including the original idea for the Battle of the Billionaires.

WWE Fastlane has come and gone and now it is oficially time to get excited about WrestleMania. Or not, depending on how you feel about the direction of the company at the moment. Generally speaking, the Road to WrestleMania is a very exciting time to be a wrestling fan. WrestleMania is, after all, the biggest show of the year and even lapsed and non-fans tune in to watch. But half of the fun is in the getting there. WWE usually starts preparing for WrestleMania months in advance at the Survivor Series and the build begins proper at the Royal Rumble. Post-Rumble you know you're in for a couple of months of sign pointing, match-making and rife speculation. You also know that things can always change along the way. As much as WWE would like to have their card locked months in advance, they cannot account for suspensions, injuries, crowd unrest or any of the other variables that can alter the booking plans. The Road to WrestleMania has often been a bumpy one, full of potholes, wrong turns and direction changes. Things very rarely go to plan in the chaotic world of WWE and it can get even more hectic during WrestleMania season. As we have seen in the past, sometimes this is for the better but other times it ends up much, much worse.
