10 Things You Need To Know About WWE Bad Blood
4. Eight Former WCW World Champs Have Worked Matches
For all the bad that WCW is (often rightly) castigated for, it shouldn't be forgotten that the company also did a lot to push the likes of Scott Steiner, Booker T and even Chris Benoit to the forefront; without such focus, it's arguable whether or not WWE would have also pushed these men as headliners years later.
In Bad Blood history, no less than eight former WCW World Champs during the promotion's original run have worked matches across the three cards.
At In Your House: Badd Blood in 1997, Owen Hart beat Faarooq (WCW Champ in 1992) and Vader (numerous reigns) also teamed with The Patriot to face Bret Hart and The British Bulldog; although Bret himself would become WCW Champion later, this match fell before he left the WWF and his stint with the gold is therefore exempt from the list.
In 2003 and 2004, ex-WCW World Champions such as Scott Steiner, Booker T, Goldberg, Ric Flair, Kevin Nash and Chris Benoit all worked matches, taking the tally of former WCW Champs to eight, helping to underpin this surprising statistic.
