10 Thrown Together WWE Tag Teams That Didn't Really Work

Remember these guys pairing up? No, me neither. But the pictures do not lie, Kenny Dykstra and then then-Johnny Nitro did indeed have a short-lived run as a tag team way back in 2007.

It was a classic example of the company having high hopes for two young guys but not having enough faith in them individually to commit just yet. Either way, the pairing soon ended when Kenny was drafted to SmackDown and Johnny was resurrected on ECW as John Morrison.

The tale of Kenny Dykstra in WWE is a strange one. Before this failed duo he was embroiled in a feud with Ric Flair of all people, defeating the Alimony Pony on PPV no less, as well as having frequent on-screen segments with Edge & Randy Orton. Kenny was also obviously the focal point of the Spirit Squad, the de facto leader if you will.

Still, he eventually amounted to nothing in WWE. Morrison? He did alright, fairing much better in his next thrown-together tag team with The Miz.

Born in the middle of Wales in the middle of the 1980's, John can't quite remember when he started watching wrestling but he has a terrible feeling that Dino Bravo was involved. Now living in Prague, John spends most of his time trying to work out how Tomohiro Ishii still stands upright. His favourite wrestler of all time is Dean Malenko, but really it is Repo Man. He is the author of 'An Illustrated History of Slavic Misery', the best book about the Slavic people that you haven't yet read. You can get that and others from www.poshlostbooks.com.
