10 Times AEW Got Into Serious Trouble

3. When The Swearing And Violence Became Too Much

As mentioned, AEW loves the word "sh*t".

For a while back in the late summer of 2021, the wrestlers said the word as often as Michael Cole incorrectly says the word "would" on WWE programming. In one episode, Dan Lambert screamed the word "sh*t" about one thousand times in reaction to Judas being played. Bryan Danielson outdid him in a verbal joust with Don Callis. There was more sh*t on that episode of Dynamite than on an episode of WWE Raw in 2009.

Word trickled down through the Wrestling Observer Newsletter in August of last year that Warner had grown weary of the swearing. That report was disputed by Will Washington of Fightful, who had heard that confusion had arose from the fact that, at a talent meeting, every AEW act was told not to go into business for themselves. It was stressed that Warner might become upset, not that they had delivered any sort of "edict".

Still, the language has been toned down, and considerably so. Blade jobs are far less frequent than they once were, though this week's edition somewhat disproves this. Then again, the big main event angle was heated up. The weekly bloodletting was left in 2022.

This entry is speculative, but when was the last time you saw a glass spot in AEW?
